Bring everyone to our Events

We are a family based center. Bring your whole family. We look forward to your involvement.

We will have a sign up sheet in each classroom to bring treats or prizes. We always welcome an extra hand if you would like to volunteer. Volunteering in not required, we would never turn away your help either. If you are interested speak to your child’s teacher.
Join us for a night of fun and games. A story book character will read to the group, and mingle with our guests for the evening. They will be happy to have their picture taken with you and your child.
We invite you and your family, yes grandparents and siblings are welcome too, to join us for a picnic in the park. There will be games/bounce house, art projects, but the best of all is parents have the time to mingle and get to know other parents in their child’s classroom.
Our past fundraisers have included chocolate covered strawberries, caramel apples, cookbook, Christmas wreaths, brown bag dinners, take-home dinners, pastries, photo puzzle, walk in the local parade and sell flavored icy sticks and water, babysitting night, silent auctions. Of course these are not all done in one year. We usually pick a couple or think up a new one. The funds that are raised go towards improving our classrooms or playgrounds. We have earned money for shade sails, outdoor musical instruments on three playgrounds, AstroTurf for infant/toddler playground and school age playground, classroom non-consumable materials.
Parents are allowed to share a birthday treat with the child’s classroom. Party invitations can be passed out by an adult. We do ask if you are going to invite one please invite all. This is to avoid hurt feelings.
These are people that bring a special talent or project, etc. to show us. For example: Bill the Bag Pipe player, Family museum brings the bubble display to share and Putnam science program to teach us about butterflies
Peter Cottontail comes to visit us each year. He hides eggs and lets all our friends hunt for them the day before Good Friday.
Our little friends dress in their Pilgrim and Indian hats for a traditional turkey dinner with all the fixings.
Orion has a Labor day parade, 4th of July parade and Home coming parade. We try to be in at least one of the parades each year.
Each year we select a family in need of a little extra help through the holidays. We talk to them, and get gift ideas to put on tags. The tags are hung on our Christmas trees. Parents select the tag, or tags, of the gifts they would like to purchase. They wrap the gifts and place them under our Christmas trees. The director and assistant director then take the presents to the sponsor family a few days before Christmas.
